By default, ESET internet security checks for and downloads new updates when they are available.
We highly recommend that you leave the auto-update feature ON because it ensures the maximum level of security on your computer.
But Some users might want to disable automatic updates due to various reasons like updates consuming a large portion of their limited data plan.
In this guide, we will show you how to disable this feature in ESET internet security.
STEP 1:
Open the main program window of your ESET internet security.
STEP 2:
in the ESET window, click on the “Tools” option.

STEP 3:
In the Tools section, click on the “More Tools” option.

STEP 4:
In the More tools section, click on the “Scheduler” option.

STEP 5:
Make sure all the “updates” checkboxes named Regular automatic update, Automatic update after dial-up connection, and Automatic update after user logon are unchecked.

Following the above steps ensures that the auto-update feature in your ESET antivirus is turned OFF.
Security alert:
Disabling the auto-update feature will result in a Security alert in your ESET internet security main program window.

The only way to clear the security alert is to re-enable auto_updates.
In order to re-enable auto-updates and clear the security alert, open the main program window of your ESET product and click the “Schedule update task” option.
