There are instances, when we want to prevent an application from connecting to the Internet. For example, you might be using an application with ads that can be silenced by cutting off its Internet access, or you might have an application that insists on automatically updating itself, and you want to stop it.
In this guide we will show you how to deny internet access to a particular running process using exit firewall.
In the main program window, press the F5 key, which opens the Advanced setup window.
In the setup menu, click on the Advanced setup option
In the advanced setup window Click on the NETWORK AND PROTECTION option.
Click on the Firewall option
Select the ADVANCED option.
Click on the Edit option in front of rules
Click on the Add button in the bottom left corner.
You can add a name for this rule in the field shown below.
You can choose your desired direction for this rule in the first drop down menu.
Including in, out or both.
In the second drop down menu you can choose your desired action to take place when the application tries to connect to the internet.
Including Allow, Deny or Ask.
After selecting your desired options, select the local section.
By clicking on the browse (…) button, you can Navigate to the application you want to create the rule for, select the application and then click Open.
After selecting the application, click on the OK button.
In the previous window, Click OK again.
And lastly, Click OK in the advanced setup window.
